Spartans Conclude Regular Season With 5-4 Win

LITTLE FALLS — The end of the regular season is officially upon us, and the ROCORI Spartans wrapped up the year with a road contest on Friday, May 23.


ROCORI hit the road for an afternoon battle against Little Falls, plating two runs in the sixth inning to come back and claim victory in the section showdown, 5-4.


Max Fredin went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored while both Caleb Maddox and Cal Heying each tallied one hit and two RBI for the Spartans. Zander Folkerts and Jake Stalboerger each added one hit, with Folkerts also scoring two runs.


Fredin pitched the first 3.2 innings on the mound, earning a no decision while giving up seven hits, four runs, one walk and striking out two. Reece Kalla tossed the final 3.1 innings in relief to grab the win, giving up just one hit, no runs, no walks and striking out four.


With the conclusion of the regular season, ROCORI wraps up the year with a record of 14-6 overall. The Spartans, who earned the No. 2 seed in the Section 8-3A playoffs, will begin postseason play on May 27.
