ROCORI Opens Up Season With 10-0 Win Over Cloquet

COLD SPRING — The 2026 ROCORI Baseball season is officially underway, and the Spartans kicked it off with a bang on April 10 in Cold Spring.

Behind six runs in the sixth inning, ROCORI 10-run ruled Cloquet in six innings, taking the game 10-0 at the Cold Spring Baseball Park.

Seven different Spartans drove in runs during the game, with Cal Heying and Grady Richards leading the way with two hits, one run and one RBI each. Heying also led the team with a pair of steals during the game.

Max Fredin got the win on the mount, pitching the first five shutout innings and giving up just three hits, no walks and striking out three. Reece Kalla rounded out the game with one shutout inning, giving up no hits, no walks and striking out one.

With the win, ROCORI improves to 1-0 overall on the season. Next up on the schedule or the Spartans is a non-conference battle against Hutchinson on April 14 in Hutchinson.
