ST. CLOUD — The ROCORI Spartans saw their season come to a close on June 7 at the Municipal Athletic Complex in the Section 8-3A Championship Round against the Little Falls Flyers.

In the first game, Little Falls took down ROCORI 6-1 to hand the Spartans their first loss of the postseason. ROCORI jumped out to a lead first, scoring one run in the bottom of the first, but Little Falls answered with three runs in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings to grab the win.

On the mound, Beck Loesch threw a complete game while giving up three earned runs and one walk while striking out two over seven innings.

In the winner-take-all second game at the MAC, the Flyers answered with a 13-9 victory over the Spartans in an offensive showcase. ROCORI opened the game with two runs in the first, six in the second and one in the third, but Little Falls answered back and ultimately took the lead in the sixth inning while not looking back.

Loesch went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run scored, Boos went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI, Spanier went 1-for-1 with two runs scored and one RBI and John Kinzer drove in one run for the Spartans. Evan Acheson and Weber each added one hit at the plate.
