ROCORI Drops First Game of Year to Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA — ROCORI hit the road for its first Central Lakes Conference battle of the season on April 16, traveling to face the Alexandria Cardinals at Knute Nelson Field.
In Alexandria, the Spartans fell for the first time of the season, dropping the contest 15-3 in five innings. ROCORI scored all three of its runs in the first three innings, bringing home one run in each of those first three frames.
Cooper Notch led the way for the Spartans at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one RBI. Nolan VanLoy also recorded a hit and scored one run for ROCORI.
Max Fredin threw the forst two innings on the mount, giving up five hits, two earned runs, two walks and striking out two. Matteo Ruiz and Grady Richards each pitched one inning in relief to round out the game.
With the loss, ROCORI falls to 2-1 overall on the season and is now 0-1 in Central Lakes Conference play. Next up for the Spartans is a CLC battle against Willmar on April 17 in Willmar.
