RED WING — To round out their annual weekend road trip that included two games in Red Wing over the weekend, the ROCORI Spartans took the field against Bemidji on Saturday, May 17 in Red Wing.
In the afternoon contest, Bemidji jumped out to a 7-0 lead midway through the game, which proved to be enough room despite a comeback attempt from ROCORI that included all three runs crossing home plate in the bottom of the fifth inning.
In the end, the Spartans dropped the game to the Lumberjacks 7-3 at Red Wing Athletic Field.
Jace Griffin went 2-for-3 while Tyler Prom, Noah Olmscheid and Cal Heying each tallied one RBI to lead ROCORI at the plate. Max Fredin, Zander Folkerts and Saul Enz also added one hit and one run scored a piece.
Prom tossed the first four innings in the mound for the Spartans, giving up five hits, four earned runs, one walk and striking out one. Reece Kalla pitched one inning in relief, giving up one hit and no earned runs. Grady Richards rounded out the game, taking the mound for the final two innings and giving up just one hit, no earned runs, one walk and striking out three.
With the loss, ROCORI’s record moves to 12-5 overall as we enter the final week of the 2025 regular season. To view the full schedule, click here.
