ROCORI Comes Up Short Against Fergus Falls

FERGUS FALLS — The ROCORI Spartans took the field for the first of three straight days of games on Thursday, May 16, hitting the road to face the Fergus Falls Otters.

In a low-scoring affair, the Spartans dropped the game to the Otters by a score of 4-1 at DeLagoon Park.

All of the scoring in the game took place in the first inning, with ROCORI plating one run in the top of the frame following by a response of a four-run inning by Fergus Falls in the bottom of the first. Both teams were held in check the rest of the way, not tallying a run over the final six innings.

The Spartans' lone run came courtesy of a Kaden Rausch hit that plated Jack Boos in the top of the first inning. Rausch finished 1-for-3 with on RBI, followed by Tyler Prom, Max Fredin and Hunter Fuchs each adding a hit.

On the mound, Jacob Stalboerger went the distance for ROCORI, pitching six innings why giving up seven hits, four runs, no walks and striking out eight.

With the loss, the Spartans drop to 7-8 on the season and 6-7 in Central Lakes Conference play. ROCORI gets right back to action on May 17 when it begins its annual weekend trip with a battle against Red Wing at 5 p.m. at Red Wing Athletic Field.
