ROCORI Baseball Sees Season Conclude In Section Playoffs

Nearly two months after the 2022 baseball season began in mid-April, the ROCORI Spartans Baseball team saw their season come to a close in early June during postseason play.

After concluding the regular season at 12-7 overall and with a record of 7-6 in Central Lakes Conference play, ROCORI kicked off action in the Section 8-3A Playoffs on May 31 to embark on a journey in an attempt to reach the state tournament once again in a rich history of doing just that.

The Spartans quest in accomplishing a state tournament berth came to an end on June 4 after falling in the section playoffs to see their season conclude. Third-seeded ROCORI dropped a close contest to sixth-seeded Little Falls 2-1 on June 4 at the St. Cloud MAC, eliminating the Spartans from postseason play.

Before taking on the Flyers, ROCORI opened the Section 8-3A Playoffs falling to fourth-seeded Sauk Rapids 9-4 on May 31 in Cold Spring, later defeating top-seeded Willmar 7-5 in Willmar before advancing to play Little Falls.

By the end of the Section 8-3A tournament, second-seeded Alexandria came away as section champions, defeating Little Falls in the championship round to send the Cardinals off to the Class 3A state tournament.

After seeing their year conclude on June 4, ROCORI finished the 2022 season with a record of 13-9 overall. Thank you to everyone for your support of ROCORI Baseball again this season!

Thank You Seniors!

Along with the conclusion of the season, ROCORI also saw seven seniors take the field as Spartans for the final time.

Thank you to Joel Sowada, Cole Fuchs, Peyton Randall, Sam Zeiher, Brady Blattner, Chandler Dumonceaux and Tyler Lardy for their contributions to the ROCORI Baseball program! We wish you nothing but the best as you move on from ROCORI!
