Jack Spanier Commits to Play at Division I Level with University of Minnesota
Senior infielder Jack Spanier recently announced his plans to continue his baseball career beyond ROCORI High School, committing to play at the Division I level with the University of Minnesota.
Spanier is coming off a junior season in 2022 where he appeared in 22 games for the Spartans, compiling a .323 batting average with 19 runs scored, 13 stolen bases, 12 walks, 11 RBI and six doubles in 81 at-bats. He also tallied 3 1/3 innings pitched in one start and one relief appearance on the mound.
As a sophomore in 2021, Spanier posted a .377 average with 23 RBI, 17 runs scored, 13 walks, 10 doubles and six steals in 95 at-bats.
Spanier's commitment to the Gophers makes him the sixth player in school history to play at the University of Minnesota. Spanier joins Troy Stein (1992), Ben Griffen (1992), Steve Huls (1993), Eric Decker (2005) and Austin Athmann (2013) as Spartans who went to wear maroon and gold.
