ROCORI Comes Back To Beat Sartell, 4-3


COLD SPRING -- The ROCORI Spartans baseball team came back to take down Sartell in a Central Lakes Conference contest on Monday night.

The Spartans defeated the Sabres 4-3 on Monday at the Cold Spring Baseball Park, thanks to a three-run bottom of the fifth inning.

Sartell jumped out to an early lead in the game, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning to grab a 3-0 advantage.

ROCORI ended up battling back into the game starting in the fourth inning, tallying one run in the fourth and three more in the fifth to complete the comeback victory.

Brady Klehr, Collin Eskew, Brock Humbert and Andrew Luethmers each tallied one hit a piece to lead the way at the plate for the Spartans.

Klehr recorded the win on the mound for ROCORI as well, pitching the first six innings while giving up just five hits, two earned runs and striking out six. With the win, he improves to 2-1 on the year in 18.2 innings of work.

Nolan Notch pitched the final inning to pick up the save, giving up one hit, no runs, one walk along with one strikeout.

With the win, ROCORI improves to 3-2 in the Central Lakes Conference and 4-4 overall on the season. Next up for the Spartans is a nonconference game against Grand Rapids at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday (May 7) back at the Cold Spring Baseball Park.
