ROCORI Drops Nonconference Game At Home, 2-1


COLD SPRING -- The ROCORI Spartans baseball team fell in its first nonconference game of the season on Friday night at the Cold Spring Baseball Park.

The Spartans hosted Academy of Holy Angels on Friday in Cold Spring, dropping the game to the Stars by a score of 2-1.

Academy of Holy Angels jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the game, with ROCORI getting on the board and scoring its lone run in the game in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Jack Steil brought home the Spartans' lone run in the contest.

Brock Humbert started the game on the mound for ROCORI, with Blake Miller coming into the game to pitch in relief for the Spartans.

With the loss, ROCORI moves to 2-2 in Central Lakes Conference and 2-3 overall on the season.

For the Spartans, they will have four road games this upcoming week against three different opponents. Two games being conference contests and two being nonconference games.

  • On Tuesday (April 30), ROCORI will travel to Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud to take on St. Cloud Apollo in a Central Lakes Conference doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.

  • On Thursday (May 3), the Spartans will take on Fridley in a nonconference game at 5 p.m. at Fridley High School.

  • On Friday (May 4), ROCORI will round out the week with nonconference matchup against Simley at 1:30 p.m. at Simley High School.
