ROCORI Offense Explodes In Blowout Win


FERGUS FALLS -- The ROCORI Spartans baseball team had an offensive explosion in a victory over Fergus Falls on Thursday evening in Fergus Falls.

The Spartans went off for 16 runs on 14 hits to come away with a 16-6 win over the Otters in five innings of the Central Lakes Conference matchup.

ROCORI kicked off the scoring in the opening frame of the game, recording four runs in the top of the first. The Spartans added three runs in the second inning, before really breaking things open with nine runs in the top of the third to continue to extend their lead and ultimately run away with the win.

Brady Klehr led the way for ROCORI both at the plate and on the mound in the win. At the plate, Klehr went 3-for-4 with five RBI and also earned a complete-game win on the hill, giving up eight hits, two earned runs, two walks and striking out six.

Rudy Notch finished 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run scored, Dylan Rausch went 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored, Ben Nelson went 3-for-3 with four runs scored and to RBI, Jack Steil went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI and Brock Humbert added a hit and a RBI for the Spartans.

With the win, ROCORI has now won two games in a row and improves to 2-2 in the Central Lakes Conference and 2-2 overall this season.

Next up for the Spartans is a nonconference matchup against Academy of Holy Angels at 5 p.m. Friday (April 26) at the Cold Spring Baseball Park.
