Spartans Breeze Past Greenway in 8-4 Victory

COLERAINE -- The Rocori Spartans baseball team finished off a busy weekend with a win over Greenway on Saturday afternoon.

Rocori took down Greenway 8-4 in a nonconference game at Marble Amateur Field.

The Spartans were led in the game by Reed Ruegemer, who finished 3-for-4 with two RBI at the plate.

Brock Leither went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and one RBI, Eli Emerson went 2-for-3 with one RBI and Matt Waletzko, Jack Steil and Matthew Koshiol each added one hit and one RBI for Rocori.

Blake Miller pitched 6.2 innings to get the win on the mound for the Spartans. He gave up 11 hits, three earned runs, one walk and struck out three with 100 pitches.

With the win, Rocori improves to 11-1 overall on the season and has now won seven straight games.

The Spartans are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to take on Willmar in a Central Lakes Conference doubleheader at Baker Field. The first game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m., with the second game to follow.
