Rocori Makes It Five In A Row In Win Over Sartell


COLLEGEVILLE -- The Rocori Spartans baseball team stretched their winning streak to five in a row with a win over Sartell on Thursdsay.

The Spartans shut down the Sabres en route to a 6-0 victory at St. John's University.

Eli Emerson led the way on the mound for Rocori, pitching a complete-game shutout to get the win.

In seven innings of work, Emerson gave up six hits, three walks and struck out seven batters.

Tylor Schroeder led the Spartans with his bat, going 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI. Jack Steil went 1-for-3 with two RBI and Brandon Gill finished 1-for-3 with a run scored.

With the win, Rocori now improves to 7-1 in the Central Lakes Conference and 9-1 overall, having its only loss on the season come to St. Cloud Apollo.

The Spartans will hit the road for a pair of nonconference games over the weekend, starting things off against Grand Rapids at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Grand Rapids Legion Field, before facing Greenway at 11 a.m. Saturday at Marble Amateur Field.
